Enrolment is automatic
Investors who make at least 30 trades per quarter or have a minimum of $100,000 CDN in consolidated net assets will automatically qualify3 for the program.
If you have assets at other financial institutions, a transfer may be all you need to qualify.

How do I qualify?
At the end of each month, your trading activity from the three previous calendar months and your net asset level will be reviewed to determine if you qualify as a member of the HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program. Please note that if you are the beneficial owner of multiple HSBC InvestDirect accounts that are linked to the same access ID, these accounts will be combined together to qualify for the HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program.
If you qualify, reduced commissions will take effect on the fourth calendar day of the following month.
Note: HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program members must re-qualify on a monthly basis

How do I know if I qualify to be part of the HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program?
You can verify your monthly status by checking online via www.invest.hsbc.ca
Instructions to view the current Active Trader status of your account(s):
Go to the Prestige Program Status tab of the Preferences section. The page will display the current Prestige Program status of each account that is linked to your Access ID.

What types of trades meet the HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program criteria?
A trade is defined as a commissionable filled equity or option trade.
Flat rate Prestige pricing applies only to equity and option trades placed online. Trades placed on the phone with a representative qualify for the phone discounts, but all trades regardless of whether they are placed through a representative or online will count towards your total trades per month.
Note: International Equity trades made online or placed on the phone qualify for the International Equities trade discount.

Which accounts are eligible for the HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program3?
All personal accounts and most non-personal HSBC InvestDirect accounts are eligible for the HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program. In order for accounts to be combined together to qualify for the HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program, the accounts must be linked to the same access ID with the same beneficial owner.
If you are the owner of an HSBC InvestDirect account that currently is not linked to your access ID you must advise us by calling 1-800-760-1180.

Do I have to register for the HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program?
HSBC InvestDirect accounts will be automatically reviewed on a monthly basis to determine if they qualify for the HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program. There is no need to register.
If you are a new client transferring in funds from another institution and you wish to qualify for the HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program immediately, you will be asked to provide previous trading statements from other institutions. We will review your statements to determine if you qualify for the Program.

How does this impact Priority Clients – Platinum, Gold and Partner Advantage clients?
The new HSBC InvestDirect Prestige Program will be replacing the Platinum, Gold and Partner Advantage programs.
Please note that if you are currently part of the Partner Advantage program you will continue to enjoy access to our Priority Phone line, waived transfer fees and no administration fees.

1 Rates apply to online trades only. Options assignments and exercises are also counted as qualifying trades. All trade orders will be charged an applicable commission rate on a per order basis. For instance, if multiple trade orders are placed on the same day, for the same security, and on the same side of the market, each individual order are subject to the applicable commission rate. All commission fees are charged in the currency of the market. For option assignments and exercises, the regular stock commission schedule applies.
